Die compagnie O. ist ein Verein mit Sitz in Zürich. Sie wurde 2017 von Marie Alexis gegründet als ein Gefäss für ihre künstlerische Arbeit und Treffpunkt für Künstler:innen aus unterschiedlichen Sparten aus dem Umfeld des zeitgenössischen Tanzes. Künstlerische Co-Leitung der Compagnie bilden Marie Alexis und die Szenografin, Architektin und Lichtdesignerin Ivalina Yapova. Gemeinsam mit der Dramaturgin Mona De Weerdt, einer Kerngruppe aus drei professionellen Tänzer:innen und einem Netzwerk an Kollaborateur:innen setzen sie Projekte als Bühnenproduktionen, site-specific-Formate, Video(essays) und Installationen um. Seit 2019 recherchieren und praktizieren sie zusammen, auch unabhängig von konkreten Projekten.

Das Repertoire der compagnie O. beinhaltet das abendfüllende Stück COME AWAY (2018, gefördert u.A. von Stadt Zürich Kultur und Fachstelle Kultur Kanton Zürich), die long-durational Performance PLEASE FEED THE DANCERS (2020, präsentiert am Theater Neumarkt, am Seekult Festival Friedrichs- hafen und bei ZÜRICH TANZT 2021) sowie ERROR 508, ein Come & Go Format (2022, gefördert u.a. mit dem Corona-Produktionsbeitrag von Stadt Zürich Kultur). 2023 entwickelten sie die Produktion LIVING MATTER(S) in Koproduktion mit dem Tanzhaus Zürich. Seit 2024 erhält die compagnie O. eine vierjährige Konzeptförderung der Stadt Zürich für das Langzeitprojekt MULTIVERSE | atypische Perspektiven. In diesem Rahmen entwickelten sie den performativen Nachtspaziergang POLEIDOSKOP im Rahmen von ZÜRICH TANZT 2024.

The compagnie O., is an association based in Zurich. It was founded in 2017 by Marie Alexis as a vessel for her artistic work and a meeting point for artists from different fields of contemporary dance. The company is co-led by Marie Alexis and scenographer, architect and lighting designer Ivalina Yapova. Together with the dramaturge Mona De Weerdt, a core group of three professional dancers and a network of collaborators, they implement projects as stage productions, site-specific formats, video(essays) and installations. Since 2019, they have been researching and practicing together, even independently of specific projects.

The repertoire of the compagnie O., including the full-length piece COME AWAY (2018, sponsored by the City of Zurich Culture and the Canton of Zurich Cultural Department), the long-lasting performance PLEASE FEED THE DANCERS (2020, presented at the Theater Neumarkt, at the Seekult Festival Friedrichs- Hafen and at ZÜRICH TANZT 2021) as well as ERROR 508, a Come & Go format (2022, supported by the Corona production contribution of Stadt Zürich Kultur). In 2023, they developed the production LIVING MATTER(S) in co-production with the Tanzhaus Zürich. Since 2024, the Compagnie O., receives a four-year concept grant from the city of Zurich for the long-term project MULTIVERSE | atypical perspectives. In this context, they developed the performative night walk POLEIDOSKOP as part of ZÜRICH TANZT 2024.
